Hurricane Productions to donate time, $500 to Rutgers Dance Marathon and Embrace Kids Foundation

With just one week away from Rutgers Dance Marathon 2008, April 5-6, Hurricane Productions LLC proudly announces its involvement with this year’s 32-hour event.

Hurricane Productions, a DJ entertainment company located in Manalapan, NJ, will provide the 10^th annual Dance Marathon with seven staff members to help entertain an event that raised $220,018.41 for the Embrace Kids Foundation last year and over $1.3 million total over the past nine years.

In addition, the company will make a $500 donation to the Embrace Kids Foundation.

Along with co-owners Strato Doumanis and Vincent Velasquez, HP volunteers will include:

Ashley Best, Jonathan Brooks, Kyle Gries, DJ LaLima, and Eddie “DJ N9NE” Romani.

Also, the company would like to invite everyone to Club DM, a two-hour dance party during Dance Marathon. The event, which will include club/techno/hip-hop among other party favorites and a light show, starts a midnight and lasts until 2 a.m., April 5^th into April 6^th. Ed “DJ N9NE” Romani and DJ Strato will be providing music and Vinny “Vin DJ” Velasquez will host the two-hour party. (A $5 mandatory donation is required for admission to Club DM.)

About Dance Marathon:

The Rutgers University Dance Marathon is New Jersey’s largest student-run philanthropic event, and it has become one of the most anticipated events held at Rutgers. Over the past 9 years DM has raised over $1.3 million, with all proceeds going to the Embrace Kids Foundation (formerly the Institute for Children with Cancer and Blood Disorders), a non-profit organization that supports children with cancer and blood disorders. The Foundation is committed to enhancing the quality of life of the children and relieving the emotional, spiritual, and financial concerns of the patient families under its care throughout the tri-state area.

DM is a university wide tradition that allows students to experience first hand what types of large-scale public good Rutgers students can unite to perform. At the Marathon over 400 dancers pledge to raise funds and remain standing for 32 hours. Dancers, along with over 500 volunteers and countless visitors, are entertained by live bands, comedians, prize giveaways, games, sports, a mechanical bull, computer and internet access, various theme hours, and much more.
